In this workshop we are recycling, reusing and rethinking the fabric of a hot-air balloons that can no longer fly. We are going to proove that fantasy and creativity will nevertheless carry us further on. In an exercise of deconstruction and creation, the material’s potential invites to think of new uses such as inflatables, chairs, bags, lamps, dresses, canopies, posters, windmills, kites…The participants shall organise their work in groups in order to encourage team work and mutual learning, and document the entiretransformation process of the balloon.Each balloon has its own story and specificity; its colours, cuts, dirt, deterioration, and publicity add another layer of authenticity to our own intellectual and manual work.
In addition to the individual projects we are going to turn the balloon’s dome into an “iglù de vent” –an ideal space to finally present the participant’s achievements. Images can be projected on to the fabric of the balloon, and there is a possibility that multiple graphic applications could be used, for example eco-friendly advertisement.

“Flow & Matter” Domaine de Boisbuchet * Workshops 2013
FLOW & MATTER / 18-24 August / REGISTER
In this workshop we are recycling, reusing and rethinking the fabric of a hot-air balloons that can no longer fly. “KAFKA” ha estat seleccionat per els premis de disseny per el reciclatge 2013
“Kafka” És un projecte pedagògic. Iniciat amb la implicació de professors i estudiants. Amb l’objectiu de recuperar les pancartes de PVC de la ciutat per fer inflables. Aquest curs ens proposem fer una aranya de grans dimensions. Pero orientem l’exercici com un repte pedagògic de futur i ens plantegem la possibilitat d’obtenir altres aplicacions d’aquest material, com mobles inflables, petites embarcacions tipus zodíac…

Bossa de Globus
Aquest projecte neix d’una col·laboració a tres bandes:
L’escola d’art ha injectat l’esforç i la creativitat. L’empresa Uni4me l’energia, les ganes i les idees. Iglú de vent ha posat el material i concepte.
Els estudiants de la professora Raquel Soteras del cicle formatiu de grau mitjà Artesania en cuir de l’Escola Municipal d’Art d’Igualada, han dissenyat una bossa original, per l’empresa Uni4me, a partir de la tela dels globus que ja no poden volar.
El projecte es va iniciar amb una pluja d’idees per relacionar la forma i la funció de la bossa desitjada, a partir d’un encàrrec, d’ Uni4me.
També es va plantejar la serigrafia, i el patronatge.
